semester ini adalah semester yang kelima buat saya selaku pelajar medikal di nottingham darunnur..

among the special things about studying medicine here is that u have to undertake a medical honours year project in which will earn you a BMedSc degree during year 3...basically buat research project la..

so kami di sini akan start clinicals a bit late, iaitu next semester (i.e after abis write up thesis, viva etc2...) n dat explains why student 3rd yr notts uni xde cuti summer..

n i'm doing a project under immunology department, and being supervised by a spanish lady yang sangat baik hati...sgt motherly figure..

sy di sini bukanlah nak citer ape die y sy duk buat hari2, tp bila join this researching group a.k.a brother2 phD, postdoc, professor, n etc2 nih...mmg terasa cam staff hospital lak...heh..attend weekly lab meeting, seminar, conference, buat presentation..fuhh, br tau dahsyat belajau postgtrad aka researcher nih..

lg2 hak postgrad y dah kawen tuh, br la paham kenapa selalu extend..memang byk kijo...dan juga byk masalah,....belum lg kira hak yang experiment dok jadi, or equipment x cukup, or sample yang diorder x smpi...

but the best thing is u learn about researching methods wic somehow i dun think it will be very useful for our clinical years pun, tp at least u gain new things la kan..(i.e DNA transfection, tissue culture, protein purification, preparation of dendritic cells, capture ELISA..bla, bla...n da list goes on)...n in fact skang nih kalu doktor medical ade research paper in hand, lg naik markah..heh..competition yang sihat la..

nway, x berhajat pun nak coret banyak, sbb kijo berlambak menggunung...other than doing experiments, kena gak baca literatures, sbb x guna buat experiment kalu xde understanding..n in fact kite sendri kena design the experiments, supervisor hanya guide je..heh, x ke rasa susah nak buat research nih..

make sure the bench is always clean and clear..

giant fridge yang boleh masuk orang n awet mayat...-87 degrees celcius..mmg boleh dpt cold burn seyh...inside this we incubate any solutions for long term use..

pistol nih dipanggil electric serological pipette filler, mmg ganas...sgt giler accurate, dan mudah..

ini vortex machine, kite letak sample kat atas tuh, utk distribute all da constituent reagents to an equal concentration..(i.e homogenisation)

nih assay y disediakan utk elisa..nampak cam main game dlm henset...ade byk wells y kita letak sample y kita nak test..

then kat machine nih la kita measure OD absorbance utk sample td..

doakan project nih berjaya..nih pkol 10pm, brader nih still in lab..analyse result seyh..

selamat beramah..dan selamat beramal jua..

p/s: jangan lupa tanya kabar kawan2 lama..entah2 ada y ade masalah ke guane..
